Roteang Orphanage: Sponsoring Special Needs Children
Nearly
half the children residing at Roteang
Orphanage have special needs such as cerebral palsy, retardation, or HIV/AIDS.
They are brought to Roteang as we are able to provide a level of medical and compassionate
care that is not available to them elsewhere. They are unlikely to be adopted,
and will live at Roteang indefinitely. They need a good deal more individual care
and medical attention than other children in the orphanage.
TSF is committed to raising the resources needed to provide the best possible special care we can for as long as we can.
Sponsoring
a child at Roteang Orphanage costs $1200 /year which includes nanny care,
food, medical care and expenses.
Every
child, in all programs, will have one sponsor (or a sponsor group if you team
up with friends). Every child is personally visited by TSF and every three months
you will receive a photo update of your sponsored child. Antiretrovirals allow
a NORMAL life for many children who would not survive without them. Once started
these medications must be kept up indefinitely: TSF now sponsors 30 such kids,
all presently doing well.
