Talented quilter, Terry Kelly Ruhlmann shows off quilt made from Cambodia fabrics given as a gift by brother, Paul Kelly. Paul Kelly and Judith Jones selling raffle tickets
Seth Kelly (not reading) drew the winning ticket for the quilt raffle on June 1st. supervised by his older brother Nat and Sam (TSF baby in the US for medical care) held by Seth and Nate's mom, Betsy Roosa.

On a trip to Cambodia last year, TSF Board member Paul Kelly purchased a stack of beautiful fabrics at the Central Market in Phnom Penh. The fabrics were a gift intended for his sister, Terry Kelly Ruhlmann. Terry, a talented quilter, immediately responded by saying 'I'll make a quilt for TSF to raffle off'. Over the period of several months, the quilt was displayed at several venues where it received lots of accolades for the beauty of the quilting as well as the rich colors and textures of the Cambodian fabrics. The quilt raffle raised over $1700. The winning ticket belonged to Miriam Gopeh, grandmother of Sovhan Dara Gopen-Crawford, adopted in January of 2002, now living in Western Massachusetts.

Fundraising for TSF is a multifaceted process. In these tough economic times, it can sometimes be difficult for people to donate money. Yet people such as Terry and Paul have donated their time and talents to form a successful fundraising idea. By displaying the quilt, they were also able to promote the great work TSF does in Cambodia as well to show off the centuries old designs of traditional Khmer fabrics. Thanks to Terry for all her hard work in creating the beautiful quilt.

The Sharing Foundation is always looking for volunteers to help with projects, fundraisers and more. C’mon and help us help the children of Cambodia. Contact a board or parent council member with your ideas for getting involved.
